I can't really see anyone wanting to pay even 5 mil for him, why would when you know he will get injured.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
The club has just taken a massive hit on Jarvis and would have to do the same on Carroll.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
Might be worth getting him out on loan to Sunderland

Loan fee of £1-£2m and they pay all his wages would enable us to get a couple of Tony Henry's gems!

Getting 5 million would be great...

As we would save about 15 million in wages...

I'll be amazed if we get more than five million.

Sadly very true.

I reckon we'd be lucky to get £5 million for him.

Disasterous signing on so many fronts.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
I don't know Gray that well but think you need someone more athletic and mobile than Rhodes or McCormack who will continue to be well paid Championship players.
We are probably too late for Mousa Dembele at Fulham who Spurs seem to be being talked about taking in Jan as he is out of contract next summer. Their second Mousa Dembele is a 19 yo centr forward. Has anyone ever signed two players with the same name from another club?
Fulham of course did have John Collins & Collins John at one point.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
Looks like we will have to wait until the summer window to bring in a natural striker, which we badly need to add to Sakho's skills.

Andre Gray,Jordan Rhodes and Ross McCormack spring to mind as front men who can fit in with the Bilic way.

I'm afraid to conclude that Carroll's days at West Ham look numbered. A big and expensive mistake that has to be put right.

Sven Roeder 12:16 Thu Dec 24
Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
I think Bilic is trying to build him up to give him confidence while he has one last chance at proving his worth.
He did a similar thing with Nolan. Talked him up , played him and then made a decision.

You have to respect the manager giving someone a chance rather than just jumping to conclusions.
Personally I think Carroll is on the same trajectory as his mate and we will find a new home for him next summer.
I'm guessing it will take a free transfer to get him out the door. A small fee at best.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
If he goes anywhere it will be on a pay per play deal.

I dreamt last night we signed CHAZ austin btw

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
When you add up his wages ... his transfer fee... his 3.5 years left on his contract..... you ain't got much change out of 50 Million.... Ha ha ha... no wonder we HAVE to move to the OS.... glad as fuck that pile of shit is not out of my pocket.

Calm down, son?

I dunno. Just offer him whatever to fuck him off. He's of no value to the team or club so get rid.

Why offer him £15m to fuck off? If he is on £90k a week and has 3.5 years left on his contract that is a wage outlay of £16.4m.

If we're only going to save £1.4m by paying him off vs keeping him on the books for the next 3.5 years then the sensible decision would be to keep him as a 3rd/4th choice striker

At this moment in time I would offer him £7m max if we were looking to pay him off. Which we're not.

Re: Carroll out against Swansea - Groin injury
Joe - I think something will get worked out one way or another, 3 and a half years is a longtime, these things usually do. This is assuming of course that he is a lost cause, which is looking very likely. Long term injuries are one thing, but now he is even missing games when not expected to. A complete waste of space.
